Jayden's First Year ~ An Enormous Blessing For Me

Jayden's Birthday is the end of this month so you're going to have to bear with me and indulge me here. Over the next few weeks I am going to do a few posts on each year of his life. Here is our first year of enjoying him.

Oh, this boy! We are so Blessed!

Visiting with my Mom in the nursing home:

Growing fast:

Jayden's first Summer enjoying the pool!

Getting some loving from Mommy!

Aunt Ellie and Jayden

Jayden loved crawling through his tunnel!

First Halloween costume:

He loved playing in the wash basket!

Umma can't get enough of this boy!

Something's not right here!

He was such a good baby!

Jayden got to visit Santa twice his first Christmas!

We all got such a kick out of Jayden's antics all the time!

SO BIG!

Getting ready to ring in his first New Year!

Jayden was sick for his First Birthday (January 31) and there was so much going on in our family at the time so we put off celebrating for a few weeks. We ended up having a party for him on February 11. My sister Diane and I left the party a little early to be with our Mom who was on hospice care. I slept at the foot of Mom's bed and Diane sat vigil beside her. I am so grateful we were with Mom when she went to Heaven the next day.
I am so grateful for the year that I was able to spend with my Mom and Jayden together. I am so grateful to have been Blessed with this boy at a time in my life when I needed a lifeline.

In the midst of so much sadness, this little boy brought a lot of joy into our lives!

Thank You, God!

  1. Very poignant, Eileen. A year with a new grandson during the same year your mother was leaving this earth. I know death is part of life but I know it was a bitter sweet year for you, my friend.
