Jayden's Sixth Year ~ Blessed Beyond Measure

I can't get over the fact that the moment I became a grandmother my life was so changed and so enriched.

That about sums up very nicely my relationship with Jayden!

Here are some of the highlights of this past year spent with Jayden.

After a hard day's work in school:

When asked what his favorite day is, Jayden replies, "Off!" (He does NOT like school at all.)

Helping 'Paw':

One of Jayden's favorite places to be ~ the beach!

Another favorite is to spend lots of time in the pool:

He even lost his first tooth in the pool!

And another favorite thing to do is to spend lots of time with cousins (and second-cousins, or second-cousins-once-removed, or whatever the relationship is. Jayden just calls them all his COUSINS!):

(Our great-nephews Tommy and Eamon with Jayden)
(Jayden with our great-nephew James)

(Jayden and Eamon having some fun with Erin!)

A very active boy:

But once in awhile there's a quiet, softer side to this boy:

Still very excited about anything 'Star Wars'!

And still very excited about snow!
Today is Jayden's actual Birthday, but over the weekend we had a Birthday celebration for him. On Saturday there was a family party ~

(James and Jayden)
(Here Mia gets in on the action too.)

Everyone was in a loving mood!
Our youngest son Andrew and our nephew Adam.
And after opening gifts, there was some time for fun outside ~

even Mia got in on some 'Star Wars' battles!

Then it was time to sing 'Happy Birthday'!

Make a wish!

And on Sunday we took Jayden to 'Dave & Busters' for lunch and some fun and games!

  1. Oh, Happy Happy Birthday to Jayden! I hope his birthday is the best one ever, and that party sure looked like a blast.

Loved reading this, Elieen. He is one precious little boy with a precious grandmother.

    Sheila :-)

  2. Jayden receives just as much joy as he gives, Eileen. Wonderful photos. Wishing him a great year being 6, working on 7.

  3. "Happy Birthday" to Jayden. Such wonderful pictures that tell a continuing story of love and hope and celebration of family and tradition and all things good and life-giving. "Hallelujah"
    Love Gail

  4. He really is such a beautiful child! He will always be close to you. ALWAYS! My mother tended a nephew for many years every day and even as a teenager he was just the one grandchild (out of 21) that was just "the one" for her. And that's was just a special bond...

  5. Well he may be getting older but those gorgeous eyes still SHINE through!!! I am so glad that Jayden was able to have his party Eileen and where on earth did everyone park with all of that snow?!
Of all of the great photos you have of Jayden, my favorite one has to be the one on the beach.
How perfect! Happy Birthday six year old!
    Love Di ♥

  6. Happy Birthday Jayden, you are such a happy, handsome boy who makes so many people very happy. I wish you much love and happiness as you make your way through this special year.
    You are so loved.....:-) Hugs

  7. Oh! That last picture, Eileen! His eyes say everything!
