"I Had The Best Days"

Jayden said these words to me today, "Umma, I had the best days!", so I thought I'd show you a little of what I got to share with him:

Fun In The Sun!

Here's Jayden with Aunt Susie (his 'pirate friend') and with Uncle Donald (his 'best friend')!

Jayden found a nice perch on Uncle Donald!

Lunch at the beach ("Umma, this is the best food!")

Ann and Jayden writing in the sand.

Playing with the sunglasses that Uncle Donald found on the beach.

Jayden playing one of his favorite games, "Umma, I'm the fooder." (Translation: waiter)

Mia, never without a duckie!

Mia and Jayden playing tea party!

Really, I had the best days too!

  1. Ohhhhh I feel your best day in all those pictures!! Except that second to last picture of Jayden sipping his tea...he looks like he is barely tolerating the Mia's tea party. :))

  2. Oh Eileen it really does look like just the most fun day ever!! First, the beach is a great place to almost guarantee a great time, and add all those little cuties in the mix and, well...
FUN FUN FUN!! What beach are you at? It looks similar to the one I'm going to in a couple of hours!

Hope your day is delightful! This was a great start to mine!
    HUGS,
    Becky

  3. I just don't know how you stand it, Eileen! If I was there I'd be the lousiest picture taker because Jayden and Mia are soooo cute that I would just be hugging and smooching away. In fact, you look so cute in the pictures with them that I'd probably have to give you a smooch and a hug!

This is such a great way to start my day...love it, can't get enough of it.

How long does it take you to get to your beach? It looks so well kept up and pretty. It was too sweet of Donald to collect and let the kids play with sunglasses...he collects ALL kinds of beach glass...get it??

    blessings and hugs,

    marcy

p.s. Angie's last comment on yesterday's post addressed you!

  4. Hi, Jill! Jayden was actually excited about the tea party, but if you're talking about the picture where he's covering his mouth, well, I put the pictures out of order, he should have been drinking the tea first and then that shot because I told him that the water was from the outdoor sink which is hooked up to the hose, and he then panicked! "This is hose water?!" He's all of a sudden very germ conscious and I had to run and get him 'fresh' water from in the house!

Hello, Becky, enjoy your fun at the beach!! I love going to the beach, but even if I do nothing but sit there, it somehow wears me out! I have no idea why.
It is fun though so I keep going every chance I get! We're in New York and we were at a beach which is in the town where my brother-in-law lives called Tobay Beach, we usually go to another one that is empty, this one was very crowded! But we had fun anyway!

Thanks for stopping in, ladies! Have a great day!
    Love,
    Eileen

  5. Oh, Marcy, we must have been commenting here at the same time!
I'll go read Angie's comment after this!
First, I'm sorry about not understanding that you DID tell me your birthdate! I told you I was like your last joke yesterday where the cashier goes off on a tangent when she doesn't even know what she's talking about! My ignorance is showing ALL OVER BLOGLAND because I left comments about it everywhere! Idiot! (that's directed at me not you). I commented after your comment last night on my blog.

Donald is sweet and he turns over all his findings to others. On Monday he gave whatever he found to Susie, Ann, and myself!

Traveling to the beach is not too far, depending on which beach we go to. Ray and I can be at a beach within half an hour. When we go to Donald's beaches we first go to his house (about a twenty minute drive) because he has a town sticker on his car, so then it's about another twenty minutes from his house to those beaches. Sometimes we stop to pick up Susie and some of her kids first.
On Monday Ann drove us to Susie's and we transferred to her car, and then she drove to Donald's, and we all transferred to his car, and then he drove us to the beach!
I'll head over to you now!
    Love, me

  6. Good morning Eileen,
Along with the glasses, it looks like you brought home lots of shells from your fun day at the beach...

Jayden and Mia are so cute together, they remind me of my grandchildren at that age (Katie & Grant) and (Amanda & Dustin), cousins that grew up very close and still are!
Mia and her duckies are sweet, even a duck watering can filling in for a teapot! I love the photo of Jayden drinking his tea!
You are at a wonderful stage of their lives, but have a lot to look forward too as well Eilene.

    Smiles,
    Wanda

  7. I know I've said it before but I'll say it again, You are the best grandma Eileen. The photos are wonderful. And mia's smile does make you want to squish here!
My Katie would kill for those white framed sunglasses. She wanted to buy some but we stopped her because she has several pairs and never wears them! Whats the point?
Your photos were perfect Eileen, what kind of camera do you use? Love Di

  8. Hi, Wanda! I do love that Jayden and Mia are close now (he used to be so jealous! It was not fun to watch them then!), I get so much pleasure at just sitting back and watching them interact!
And Ann's grandsons too when they were here with Jayden, it's really fun to see them all together. And little Eamon kept asking Jayden "Where's your baby sister?" about Mia! They had all been together here over the weekend and I guess he thought she belonged here too!
I'm sure you mentioned it, Wanda, but I forget, how many grandchildren you have.
And I am looking forward to building many more memories with them!

Hi, Di! We have tons of sunglasses, I keep them in bins in the back room in case someone needs them for pool volleyball. A lot of them are kind of scratched though because they were found on the beach! (Donald once found over forty of them at ONE TIME in ONE SPOT! What do you think that was all about?)!
I'll look through them and see which ones are least scratched and send them along and she can see if it's anything she'd care to wear.

We have two digital cameras that we use. At home it's a big, bulky one that I use (Nikon). At the beach I took along Ray's little camera (it says Lumix Panasonic). They both give me trouble though! I'm not only computer illiterate ~ I'm camera illiterate!

    Have a great day!
    Love, E

  11. Awww... It looks like everyone had such an awesome time! I wish we lived closer to a nice clean beach. Your grandchildren are just adorable ♥ I have never read the book you mentioned on my post. Even though sad it does sound interesting. I hope you have a lovely day.

  12. Hi Eileen,
The beach was gorgeous, and I'm home and showered, and feeling great!!

I made my blog award and tag free because it just took too much time to copy and paste and give the award and participate in the tags. The tags for prayer and such are not the tags I'm referring to. I still will post them as God leads me. I say that beacause there have apparently been some of those generated that were hoaxes. I'm talking about the ones that require some action or answering questions and tagging other people. You can grab my award and tag free button if you want. I will be offering some other ones in the not too distant future.

    You're a sweetie! Glad we're friends!
    Have a wonderful evening!
    HUGS,
    Becky

  13. Hi Eileen! When I can catch my breath i will start posting again. It seems to get harder and harder for me to post! I end up spending so much time reading everyone's post I don't know how you ladies do it! Love your post today! the children are absolutely beautiful!

  14. Thanks, Gail, I like that idea of writing chapters in their lives and I enjoyed that post of yours a lot.

Thank you, Bernie, it really was a happy few days, and we do all have fun when we get together!

Hello, Carol, I do feel lucky to be so near the beach, I always said I liked where I live, we are close to Manhattan if we drive in one direction, and we are close to the shore if we drive in the opposite direction!

Hi, Becky, so glad you enjoyed your beach day! And thanks for stopping in to let me know about the buttons! I'm glad we're friends too, I've been enjoying reading your blog and especially reading all about the family reunion, I love stories like that!

Hi, Linda! How are you? We've missed you, I know you've been really busy with your family visiting (that's a nice kind of busy to be!), and there is no way I could blog if I had a full-time job! It's practically a full time job to keep up reading and commenting, and then I have to stay up so late to post anything! And loading pictures is so time consuming. I don't know how people keep up with so many followers, I find it hard to keep up with the few that I visit!
Thanks for all your kind comments.
Post when you can, or just come visit in the comment sections once in awhile, it's nice to hear from you or to see what you've written to others. Even if you just comment on one blog we can see what you're up to!

    Have a nice evening everyone!
    Love, Eileen

  16. I love "the best days" too. Are those sea shells sitting there on the outdoor sink?? If so that is purely AMAZING.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, Simone, tons and tons of seashells! I got all those in one fell swoop! It's amazing, some days there is nothing for miles and miles, other days you can find tons of beautiful beach glass, and some days there are more shells than I know what to do with! And other days it's lots of driftwood that I'm finding.
On the seashell day my husband thought I was nuts! But I couldn't leave even one behind!
