The Instigator Is At It Again!

Our youngest son moved out into his own apartment about a year ago. Since that time I can probably count on one hand the number of times he's stopped in here 'just for a visit'. Most of his visits are due to invitations on our part to pool parties, birthday parties, and other family celebrations and gatherings. Most of his other 'pop-ins' are due to retrieving his mail, or maybe borrowing tools, or with some specific agenda in mind. Yesterday he and his girlfriend stopped in because he was expecting something to come in the mail and he still uses our home as his mailing address.
Whatever the reason, we are always happy to see him, especially Jayden who gets very excited to see Andrew, and Jayden is also quite taken with Andrew's girlfriend Lisa. So any visit from them is a welcome one.
Now, just before leaving Andrew tells us that he has some "juicy gossip" about our oldest son, but he's not going to tell us 'just yet'! I asked him what he was talking about, and he gets this Chesire Cat smile on his face as he walks out the door and says, "Well, ask him, see if he tells you first!" (Hence, the nickname 'Instigator'!). Of course we all start guessing and throwing out our ideas of what it might be, and the Instigator just keeps smiling and walking out the door! My first question was "Is it something good or something bad?!" The Instigator wouldn't even answer that for me!
Andrew and our oldest son work together, or rather, our oldest son is Andrew's supervisor, a situation that I don't think sits very well with either one of them! It makes for some very interesting conversations around here! And it's funny to hear each side of any given situation, one from the 'bosses' point of view and one from the 'employee' point of view. Very funny, and very interesting indeed.
Anyway, back to the Instigator ~ he wouldn't even tell us if it was work-related or personal! I think the next time the Instigator pops in I'm going to pop him!

  1. My girls could not work together at home. One is very bossy when she is working with anyone and the other just does not want to take that crap from her sister. I could not imagine them working togehter at all. *s* I hope 'the instigator' tells you soon and it is good news. I was reading what you said in your profile and the nice thing about getting older is I no longer sweat the small stuff. I am learning more and more each day to accept people for what they are.

  7. That would have just driven me insane! I think I would have had to chase him down or follow him until he fessed up! Oh how can you stand the suspense Eileen? Now don't you be an instigator too. You must let us know what it is when you find out, that is unless it's too personal of coarse. In that case you can just Email me!!! LOL!!! Love Ya, Di ♥

  8. Hi Eileen, I have "Insigators" in my family too...and I seem to always be the last to know anything...probably lots of things I don't need to know, or want to for that matter, however I get crazy when someone tells me they have 'juicy gossip' then fail to let the 'cat out of the bag', and why do they say anything at all...that is what I would like to know... : ) oh well ((((HUGS)))) TT

  10. Hi Eileen, This post struck me as funny because our sons have all worked together at one time or another and the drama! I can't even begin to tell you LOL Your son sounds so much like our son Kurt. We only see him on holidays or family parties. He is usually off doing his own thing otherwise.
