The National Day of Prayer

Today is our National Day of Prayer, an observance that has been held annually since 1952, when Harry Truman issued the first proclamation. The National Day of Prayer is a day to celebrate life as God's servant, a day to thank the Almighty Father for the wonderful Blessings He bestows on our nation. A day also to pray for those less fortunate, to pray for the sick and the needy, for those who are in jail. A day to pray as a nation for our leaders and the leaders of all nations as well as religious leaders around the world. It is a day to pray for peace and prosperity.

  2. I agree with Bernie, with or without a national day of prayer, it is something that unites so many people all year long.

  4. I never knew we had a National Day of prayer. We have this great power available in our lives and it is so sad that many just don't know about prayer, or God. Many children are not being raised with it, like we were.

I love the music you have on here Eileen. It makes me want to stay and linger longer.

  5. This is a lovely post. I pray for your country and mine.

I've been here for the past 20 minutes or so...reading up on so much that I have missed.

I've scrolled down from the latest post you have... and everything has just been lovely, classy, heartwarming.

One reason why I can never do FB... reading someone's blog is like reading that person's heart.

I loved the teacup set you featured. So lovely and so inviting.

    Love your heart, dear Eileen.

Hope all continues to be well with you.

    Much love
