Plus de Paree Gay

More of Gay Paree!

(By 'gay' I mean cheerful, joyful, merry, bright, lively, pleasurable ~ nothing to do with anyone's sexual orientation in Paris.)

This next photo of Diane and Will is so sweet!

This next picture is my absolute favorite scenic photo!

And I'd love to know the story behind all these locks on the fence in the photo below!

The Moulin Rouge! I thought the singing in that movie was fabulous! I heard Ewen McGregor and Nicole Kidman got panned, I understand if there were complaints about the story line or even the acting, but I thought they did a great job with the songs.

Si belle! Merci, Diane et Steve!
Joyeux Anniversaire, Diane!

  1. On those last several pictures...are those windows on the roofs?
What history! How old is Paris, do you know? I mean, how old are those buildings, etc? The detail and architect is just beautiful.

I would love to see the hotel they are staying in. I've often wondered how similar or different the accommodations are there. I know you showed the outside of their Best Western but I'm very curious how the inside looks. But that might be too personal.

  2. Merci, Eileen!
We were able to venerate the Crown of Thorns at Notre Dame!

    Grandma Honey,
We did not go to the top of Notre Dame, but I don't think they were windows but some type of screening in the bell towers. I think the building of it started in the 1100's.
The hotel was very old, but eccentric, and our room was small with a very tiny, oddly shaped bathroom.

  4. The photos were beautiful and Happy Anniversary to Diane and Steve! At least that's what I think you said (High School French!)!
What a beautiful place Eileen, the nighttime photos were gorgeous. And I thought that your little disclaimer at the beginning was cute!
Are we going to be traveling to Italy by any chance?

  5. What a nice trip for them and how wonderful for them to be in romantic Paris with someone they love. I was in Paris over ten years ago but it would have been so much better to be there with my hubby.
