Got this from Marcy @ Blessings Each Day and from Cathy @ A Bit Of The Blarney. And, call me a tattle-tale but Miss Marcy (aka blogger police) did not follow the rules as she did not use only one word for her answers (is there a 'MeMe post' police force?). So I am going to follow Cathy's example and obey the rules of the ONE WORD MeMe! Well, it was hard to obey the rule so I'll give our dear Marcy a break. Plus she was recovering from the vapors or whatever she had, I think it's much like what I suffer from at times, what I refer to as my 'senior moments', so I'll cut her some slack (and I can use it in the future when she tries turning on her siren to arrest me for Award Abuse, or Poetry Neglect). And I did bend the rules a little myself because where I grew up, my state is a two-word state, so I abbreviated and I don't think an abbreviation counts as a word does it?

I played, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteNo MeMe police for me....
Smiles,
Jackie
Thanks, Jackie!
ReplyDeleteNow, readers, (or commenters or is it commentators) I looked up abbreviation and it's actually NOT considered a word in formal academic prose, and it is very much frowned upon.
BUT for informal settings it is very much acceptable, and abbreviations refer to a shortened form of the word, so, WHEW! I'm safe.
I will play, maybe later. I have to go deliver lunches at church today and then go kitty sit! Maybe tonight! That's hard to do Eileen with one word answers! Good job. I loved the place that you visit often, me too!
ReplyDeleteHold on missy...I don't know just HOW safe you are!! If you see 'frowned upon' anywhere, any time, that is pretty STRONG language, nothing to be taken lightly. Do you seriously want the dictionary people to frown on you? Get real now, Eileen, they are people too, with feelings and now they are affronted and maybe even abacked!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am frowning upon your answer to #14...SO untrue!!! You have NO idea how educated you are, so that means it's up top me to tell you...Eileen, YOU are educated!!! I have conversed with doctors (who thought I was a medical professional myself), lawyers (who thought I was a well spoken crybaby...it was the station going bankrupt) and Indian chiefs (literally) and you could hold your own with the best of them. Schooling means nothing...my own father never went further than the sixth grade and yet he watched, understood and enjoyed educational programs that were mind boogling. Then I have a cousin with three or four PhDs and, well, um trying to be Christian here), I would place my money on my own dad in any debate.
blessings and hugs,
marcy
p.s. You get my redhead Irish up when you don't do justice to my friend Eileen!!
Diana, I hope you do play!
ReplyDeleteAnd have a good day!
Marcy! You are too funny and too sweet.
I don't think I'm stupid, Marcy, but I know my limitations. I'm not stupid, but I'm not smart, at least not 'book smart', but to my credit I think I'm 'street smart' and I think I have some common sense, so I get along alright!
And that's very sweet of you to compare me to doctors, and lawyers, and even Indian Chiefs! And I'm especially honored to be compared with the fine company of your own dear Dad. Thank you!

Hi again -
ReplyDeleteMy Mom LIVES in Clinton, Clinton, CT too cute that you thought I meant Clinton was her name. Her 'American' name is "Louise", on he birth certificate is it "Liberata" :-) which is Liberty in Italian. Her parents were first generation from Italy arriving at Ellis Island.
She is a soft Italian, Northern Italy, fair skin and blue eyes. Her picture is on my blog on a post about Mother's Day, a few posts back.
Love to you
Gail

Not educated? Don't let the nuns hear you say that!
ReplyDeleteI don't like to see the questions about what you wear, makes me think a perv. thought up this little game.
dhoff
dhoff, a pervert or DONALD!!
ReplyDeleteAnd why does your mind go to the gutter all the time?! I think you've been hanging around with Donald too much!
Gail, I love Liberty even more! I think she should have kept that, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to come read about her, thanks!
I love that everyone is coming here to do their lists! I don't have to leave my own backyard, you all came and paid a visit to my 'home'! Mi Casa Su Casa! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWanda, what was the fox dream? And I like your favorite store, I shop there A LOT!
It's nice you described your life as Blessed. And I think it's so fitting that you wrote 'window' as the place you go over and over!
Nice post! (er, comment!)
Loved it!
Teresa, I find your dream about flying very interesting especially with your happy events lately!
And I understand your dream/goal and I'll be praying for you.
And you are RICH! Maybe not financially right now, but I think you have much more valuable gifts.
How long have your parents both been in heaven, if you don't mind my asking. I know you had mentioned on my blog that you mom has Alzheimer's.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jill, I was just writing to a friend about that. My Mom was gone three years on February 12, and this August 18 will mark two years that my Dad is gone.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it still sometimes. I remember my sister saying after my Dad died that she felt like an orphan. Women in our fifties, feeling like orphans.
I'm running out right now. But I'll tell you the whole story sometime, Jill.
You can email me, Jill, if you ever feel like it, hit the little postcard under my profile.
I'm praying for you, Jill.
Hope I fooled you...you thought I wouldn't be back, but you should have listened to the music...you know the kind that they play when something scary is about to happen in the movie and those actor people SHOULD be listening in the movie and they wouldn't do the dumb scary things they do! What's wrong with them anyway???
ReplyDeleteYou could have listed Ray's car because it's supposed to be that everything that's his is yours and everything that's yours is yours and everything that is everything is yours etc. etc.
By the way...is there a perv loose on our village? Do I need to send a patrol car out? Or do you have the situation under control?
blessings and hugs,
marcy
You're right, Marcy, I could have listed Ray's car. I never think of any car as 'ours' as I don't drive (would 'non-driver' be considered one word?), so I never think of myself in terms of a car owner.
ReplyDeleteNo pervs here in the village, Marcy! So far I think we are safe!
I hate to be discriminatory, but it's rare that I've heard of perve women, I think the men have the market cornered on that.
I see some men joining in here in the blog world, but none have been to visit my 'home' yet.
And if they do, and I find out that they are 'pervs', I am going to sic Marcy on them!
