Some Fun Shots

Here's a few photos of some of the fun that's been going on around here lately:
Ray's Birthday was last month and I've been making cupcakes instead of the usual big sheet cakes for Birthdays lately. But Jayden spotted this baking set one day while shopping with his Mom and his Aunt Ellie and he suggested I make a GIANT cupcake for Paw's Birthday. So that's what I did with a little help from my little friend!

And here Jayden heard something familiar from Umma, "Jayden, DON'T YOU DARE!"

Jayden is usually in school for a full day when I watch Mia, and this particular day she was very bored and she decided that I was bored too, so she put on a show for me!
There was lots of singing and dancing...

...there were Princesses and lots of costume changes...

...and then she really went to town with a big finale!

And then she decided it was time to watch 'Peter Pan' for the umpteenth time!

Here's Jayden as Ang (from one of his favorite shows 'Avatar'):

Here he is as a robot (doing a robot dance):

And on this past rainy Sunday Jayden and Mia were playing 'Spy', and this is Jayden and Mia in their detective outfits:

And on a side note, I would like to wish one of my blogger friends and her husband a VERY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

From all my farmers in Farmville (another place that is lots of fun!):

(Scarlett and Chuckie Ray) and

(Rayscarleen and Eileen)

To our fellow farmers Mike and Marcy:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MARCY AND MICHAEL!

Know Your "Its"

Blessings Each Day

Charli And Me

Linda Lu's Been There Done That

TechnoBabe

The Gates' Post

Crown Of Beauty

Please know that I am not ignoring you! I keep getting an error message, or the blog will pop up on the screen for a few seconds and then I'm booted back to my own blog. Sometimes I can get to the blog and I leave a comment but when I return the comment is not there. I will continue to try each day to reach you! There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Some blogs it is worse than others. Lidj, I have not been able to get to your blog for some time now, next time I get through I think I am going to copy and paste all the posts I've missed and put them into Word so I can read at my leisure if that is alright with you. I really miss you all! Please bear with me and don't give up on me!
Love to you all,
Eileen

Teresa Is The Birthday Girl Today!

Happy Birthday to Teresa @ Mysterri2me2 (I love her blog name! It's a very cute play on words! I see a lot of her blog friends call her Terri, but she's always been Teresa to me, and sometimes T!).

And I love this picture of Teresa, I've always loved black and white photos and I think Teresa looks especially pretty in this one. And it somehow suits her, although when I think of Teresa I think of a very colorful personality!

Teresa's posts have brought me to both laughter and tears. You can feel the immense love that Theresa has for her children and grandchildren as she writes about them. Teresa's blog is reflective, thoughtful, introspective, at times pensive, at times mournful, at times joyful, at times so much fun (Teresa has a wonderful sense of humor) and it is always so expressive as she does so much soul-searching. Teresa is a deep thinker and I find her blog stirring up so many of my own emotions as she invites us to walk along with her on her journey. And I admire Teresa's honesty, as she doesn't pull any punches when writing about her life, her faith, her feelings, her insecurities, or any given situation she may be in the midst of. Teresa sometimes writes about searching for something that eludes her, and I get that, because there are times I feel that exact same way, something just beyond my grasp, but not knowing even exactly what it is. Teresa has inspired me to do some of my own soul-searching, and she's inspired me to find a deeper relationship with God, and she's inspired me in other ways too, she's inspired me with her healthy eating tips, and just recently she has inspired me to purge my home of clutter as she has posted about making space in her home and donating to charity.

Well, T, I hope your special day is a very happy one! Stay strong and keep writing and blogging!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TERESA!
Love to you,
Eileen

Catching Up and Stealing A Post Title

I am stealing the post title and idea of "Catching Up" from my blogger friend at Morning Glories And Moonflowers. Lori did a wonderful post where she caught her readers up on the latest that was going on in her life. There has been lots going on here but I will just 'catch you up' on a few things in this post and save the rest for another post.

A few weeks ago Ray and Jayden went to a Met's game at Citifield:

I like the idea that they saved all the sites of the bases from the old Shea Stadium, and they are marked in the parking lot of the new Citifield:

I don't know why Jayden is giving a thumbs down in this photo, except maybe it was so cold that evening!

But I guess it's never too cold for ice cream!

Last week Jayden was home sick from school almost the whole week. He was off the week before for Easter vacation, he went back on Monday, and then Monday night he began running a temperature. That went on all the rest of the week. He spent most of the time watching favorite movies or playing hand-held computer games, but when he was feeling well enough we'd venture outside for a bit if it was warm and sunny, and he'd check on his tomato plants that he and 'Paw' had planted. And if the weather wasn't so nice and sunny, we'd stay in and play games or paint (usually we paint either outside or in the back screen room), but on this cold day we stayed in and painted while sitting on the kitchen floor. Very easy clean up!

And one good thing about being sick is that Grandpa brings home a toy or two with him when he comes home from work:

"Thanks, Paw! I love it!"

Our boy was feeling much better by the weekend! His allergies are still bothering him but no more fevers!
You might think this is him waiting for someone to open the front door for him:

But you would be wrong! It's just a place he likes to hang out, in between the doors!

Our lilac bushes out back are in full bloom:

And we have plenty of these big bees buzzing around all the time! Ray caught this one paying the lilacs a visit:

These pansies are coming up in an old plastic pot that was set to be discarded!

And I'm trying to play catch up on all the blog posts of yours that I have been missing. I am still having trouble accessing and/or commenting on so many blogs now too! I even have trouble getting to some of my own blogs at times!

'Hope you all enjoy a wonderful week!

Once Upon A Time Recipe

I am joining Cathy @ A Bit Of The Blarney for a 'Once Upon A Time Recipe' post.

This is a crab/cheese spread that we enjoyed while eating at Fulton's Crab House in Downtown Disney, the restaurant is pricey but well worth it! It had the most delicious seafood as well as a variety on the menu to pick from if seafood is not to your liking. The recipe for the cheese spread was printed on the back of our reservation card.

FULTON'S CRAB BOURSIN
(Yields 3 cups)

1 1/2 lb. Cream Cheese
1/4 Cup Roasted Garlic
1/2 Tablespoon Green Onions, chopped
1/8 Cup Fresh Basil
1/8 Cup Lemon Juice
1/2 Tablespoon Horseradish
1 Tablespoon Crabmeat or Crab Base
1/8 Cup Roasted Red Peppers
1/2 Tablespoon Hickory Smoked Mustard

Mix all ingredients except cream cheese in a large mixing bowl, set aside. Cut cream cheese into small cubes and place them in a mixer (I used just a hand mixer and the spread came out fine). Mix until smooth. Stop, scrape sides of bowl and mix again. When the cream cheese is smooth, add the rest of the ingredients to mixer. Be careful not to over mix. Store in a covered container until ready to serve. Serve with an assortment of bread and crackers.

Please join Cathy for some more recipes!
