I would love to be able to connect with friends. I have done so with a few on Face Book too, but living 300 miles away from the most of them, I try and keep up but...do so by the way side. Maybe some day...:) So nice you were able to reconnect and what a WONDERFUL IDEA of exchanging ornaments! Since I retired a group of us get together monthly to have lunch. We have a total of 68 in our group but usually 40 show up. Different girls at different times. We laugh and talk, share stories, and support one another. At first I didn't know how it would go but I look so forward to that day each month. I hope you will keep in touch with your girlfriends too. The older I get I realize just how much we women need women. I'm glad you had such a good time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2660197240885544447.post-19036486789506580062009-11-16T12:15:09.178-05:002009-11-16T12:15:09.178-05:00Eileen, oh I love reading that you met up with you...Eileen, oh I love reading that you met up with your old friends....I am a real believer that woman should always keep their women friends in their life....I know it has been important to me and we have always been there for each other. I would love to connect up like you did. What a great idea! Thank you for sharing the details of this experience. You write in a way I can picture it. Sad to hear abpout the losses and tragic news, and of course, I was unsettled to hear someone died of complications from M S.
On a brighter note it was so nice to hear of all the happy events, careers, kids, AND I think the ornament sharing was a lovely gesture. I didn't really have any friends in high school as I met my first husband when I was fourteen. But I had many in grade school. It would be fascinating to learn what has become of everyone. I can only imagine how you must have felt going home that evening. All of the emotions and memories of the past. I would think that you had that on your mind for quite awhile. Do you know where Marcy is? I've emailed her but have not heard back.
Love DiDianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11429812875586479256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2660197240885544447.post-35005981162651221842009-11-16T08:05:32.037-05:002009-11-16T08:05:32.037-05:00It is wonderful to have old friends back in your l...It is wonderful to have old friends back in your life. I completely understand your happiness Eileen, I get together once a month with 12 friends from grade school days. In fact, I'm going to one this Saturday, we have two birthdays to celebrate this month. We meet at a local diner just up the road from my house and last Christmas they all came here. I have blogged a little about it.
Life is made better by friends, I know how much I appreciate all of you in "The Village"!!!

Luv and Smiles,
WandaWanda.....https://www.blogger.com/profile/00551160819558198338noreply@blogger.com
